R & T Electric Services Ltd. and Specialty
Installations Ltd. respects the privacy of our employees and
our clients and have developed this privacy policy to ensure
the personal information we collect remains secure and
protected. We have appointed two qualified persons as
Privacy Officers to offer more information on our practices
and policies, to ensure compliance, handle requests and
rectify any complaints.
Collecting and Using Information
When we collect personal information from you, we
will explain how we intend to use it. We will limit the
information we collect to what is pertinent and necessary to
the effective conduct of our business. We will obtain your
consent if we wish to use your information for any other
purpose and before collection formation from third parties
such as credit bureaus.
Releasing Information
We may provide your information to other persons
only when we have your consent or where we are required or
permitted to do so by law.
Protecting Information
We will protect your information with the
appropriate safeguards and security measures from
unwarranted intrusion, theft, accidental release, loss,
unauthorized disclosure, use, copying or modification. We
will retain your information only for the time it is
required for the purposes we explain or as required by law.
When we destroy your personal information, we will use
appropriate safeguards. We will ensure all third party
suppliers that we are required to release information to
have compliant privacy policies in place.
Electronic Information
All electronic information is protected with the
appropriate safeguards and security measures. Internet and
email use in our offices is monitored and randomly checked
for security measures. All information is retained only for
the time it is required for the purposes we explain or as
required by law. When we will destroy your personal
information, we will use the appropriate safeguards and
follow privacy procedures.
Providing Information Access and Accuracy
We will give you access to the information we
retain about you. We will make every reasonable effort to
keep your information accurate and up to date. You have the
right to challenge the accuracy and completeness of the
information we hold about you, and if it is inaccurate or
incomplete, we will make the necessary correction or
amendment. To request access to your personal information
submit a written request to the Privacy Officers. The
information will be released within 30 days of receipt.
Should R & T / Specialty not be able to comply with the
request for a justifiable reason, that reason will be given
to the requestor. R & T / Specialty considers the following
reasons justifiable to refuse access to personal
information:
- Solicitor-client privilege
- Litigation privilege
- Security and ongoing fraud
investigation
- Proprietary or trade secret
information
Requests that could reasonably be expected to threaten
the security or privacy of another individual
Respecting and Responding to your Privacy Concerns
We will explain your options for refusing or
withdrawing consent to the collection, use and release of
your information, and we will record and respect your
choices. We will investigate and respond to your concerns
about any aspect of our handling of your information.
